Autumn's Light

Looking at this artwork, I think I have improve a lot from the beginning of this year. During the free time I had after completing Twilight Enchantment, I work on this acrylic painting and it turn out satisfying. Although I am not nearly good as I want to be, I feel like this artwork let me know that I am getting closer a little bit.

Magical Book

What I had imagined in my mind was to have a magical book and mythical creatures coming out of it.
Simply put, I like the book, but the reality doesn't match the imagination. I think it was a good practice because I had learned a lot from this artwork.

Twilight Enchantment

This artwork is meant to create a beautiful and somewhat romantic sunset. The media for this artwork is watercolor and some acrylics. Overall I think it turns out satisfying. After a while, looking at it now, I could improve it a lot, but I am going to keep it as it is now.

Coffee Sign

The goal of this task was to create a simple coffee sign.
My idea was to have a coffee with steams coming out with the name; Red, White, & Brew.

Good Morning

This artwork is meant to test my current skills as of the beginning of the school year (2018-19). For this specific project, we were suppose to create our best artwork from our current skills. For this particular task, I decided to experiment with water color painting. After a few tweaks and experimenting, this is my current, first water color painting. I am happy with some parts and sad about some parts. Overall I think I did good for the first time with water color painting.

Value Drawing

For this value drawing project, we were given a varieties of choices on what we can draw but should keep it to realism.
Personally, what was challenging was keeping my subjects proportional. It was also hard making it different shades. The hardest was getting it to the darkest and slowly fading. In summary, I think I had some good parts, but as a whole, I should improve my shading skills and proportions.

Still Hand With An Object

For this task, we were are suppose to hold an object in our hand, and draw what we observe while holding the object still. It was very challenging holding the object still for a long period of time. It was also hard viewing the hand and object in an angle that would help draw the outlines. Overall, I think I did a good job outlining, but could've have done more shading to make it more 3-D.

For this drawing below, we have to outline our hand and object to create negative space.

As for the last drawing, it's a contour line drawing with added details of the hand and necklace..

Portrait

This image is the portrait I am trying to recreated through drawing.
Overall, I think I did pretty well trying to recreate this beautiful young girl. I am quite happy with this artwork because after making this artwork, I feel more confident in myself.

One Point Perspective: Spring Time

For the One Point Perspective Project, I wanted to make a artwork that is romantic with beautiful scenery. I have many troubles with the work, but in term of displaying my motive, I think it turns out well.

Tempera Batik: Lucent Flower

This is the draft for my Tempera Batik project. As you can see, it's a tulip flower with dark blue leaves.

This is the final draft for the Tempera Batik Project. I added more flowers and details to make it look more better.

This is the final form of my Tempera Batik project.I called it Illuminating Flowers because the flowers are glowing while the are parts of the artworks is kind of dark-ish.

Bas Relief

Making this piece artwork was not hard, but making it the way I wanted it was really hard. Even though it didn't turn out the way I really wanted it to turn out, it turn out pretty well. I really like tigers so I decided to make a bas relief of a tiger with flowers as backgrounds.

Grid Value Drawing of Face of Josh

This is a quick sketch of a classmate face (Josh), while he is sitting still in a fixed position. The goal was to get a quick sketch of the outline of his face. I think I did well.

Plaster Subtractive Sculpture

At the beginning of project, I decided to carve a sword stuck in the ground, like the Excalibur. I started with a milk cart shape. But as I keep carving, it was really hard to carve for me so, I decided to make a trophy instead. I think I did a decent job trying to make a trophy.

Mandala Painting

For my Mandala project, as you can see, it consists of flowers and butterflies. There's no real meaning behind this art piece. At the time, I thought of flowers and butterflies, so I decided to create a artwork consists of these things.

Portfolio Covers

This is the back of my portfolio covers. I rushed this side so, you can't really see my first name.

This is the front of my portfolio cover. Over all, I think it turned out well even though I didn't depict my thoughts completely well.
